Hello blog! I have no idea if I'm resurrecting the blog... It is still way too difficult to load pictures on here since they did away with the app. (Still shaking fists at the heavens.) But days like this felt sacred and just a little too close to home to share on social media. But ye ole family blog is more like talking to an old friend so I wanted to share this beautiful place with you!
However, I did decide if I start blogging again, I'm just going to post pictures with quick captions so I don't get too bogged down by writing dissertations of our major life events, as I'm in the habit of doing!
Over the weekend, we jumped in the car with some of my most precious friends and headed to North Alabama for a hike to Sogahoagdee Falls in the Bankhead National Forest. It was a sunny, temperate, perfectly delightful day. A day that felt important to spend time with people we care for deeply.
We sure are thankful for this adventurous couple for taking us both under their wings. London calls them grandma and grandpa and it thrills them to no end! :) Also, you know you've struck adventure gold when you end up with a full itinerary of all the other places we should visit. As we drove north, they would both pipe up periodically with a 'you've GOT to go there!' Put on your walking shoes, Booper. Fun times await!
The sweetest folks.
They love showing her beautiful places. It reminds them of hiking with their own kids when they were young. I am so grateful for the way they pour into her.
This picture makes me smile. Bob is clearing the cobwebs from the path and will reach back every time to help us jump over logs or slide down the steep parts of the path. Listening to them both chatter with London about all the important 7 year old topics is heart swelling. This state is full of remarkable people.
Finding bricks of 'gold' and deciding how they will spend their riches. The decision was Bob will retire, buy them both a pony, and the ponies will live on Bob's back porch. :)
They brought their waterproof camera and let London be the photographer for the day. She had a blast snapping pics! They're so thoughtful!
It was the definition of Sunday Funday. Such a peaceful, beautiful, well spent day.
