I love these….
They love each other so much!
The Rhea Family took a quick family vaca to the beach last weekend. I think it was a relaxing, tar free weekend! The big milestone of the weekend was that the twins decided it was time to face their fears and turn into beach lovers! Charley walked Caden slowly in the water (laughing the whole way) until he was far enough out for dad to carry him. A bit later, they looked to the shore and Tootie Beth was standing in the waves with her arms out in ‘pick me up’ style. Charley walked her out into the water and just like that… milestone reached! Yay kid-os! Charles, Im catching the blog up with Charley pics next weekend! Thanks for the pictures, Lala!
I love that you can see the water beading off of him! All slathered in sunscreen!
Well, this is not the best effort I’ve gotten from these two, but its the best i’ve gotten on film! The kids are super excited about their birthday (burthday as Caden says) and it is one of the cutest things you’ve ever heard when they start talking about it! They both get so excited and just mush all these birthday words together! They feed off of each other so when one says swimming, for example, the other will tell you who all they are going to swim with! The best part is watching their little angel eyes LIGHT UP when they start talking about it! So precious! I cut this video off just as Caden screams that he’s going swimming with CHARLEY!!!! I love them so much!

Sitting up and loving it!
Hanging out with Renny- the best big sis ever!
And….. cutting teeth! Yup! 18 weeks old and we’ve got one clearly visible on the bottom! It hasn’t popped on through yet, but we’ll keep you updated!
Powers and I went our separate ways this weekend, then joined back up Sunday for Father’s Day. I spent Friday with my folks and Saturday visiting the Overstreets- our lifelong family best friends. As is the norm these days, all of our big events are documented with pictures of London smiling… no one else much makes it into our pictures! Sorry Mom, Dad, and Blair!
Powers and Ren went to D-Lo to play with Poppi! They had a blast doing bee stuff all weekend! Here are some pics from Baby Girls weekend…
Our great visit with Blair and Karen! I was so thankful for some quality time with my old friends! We had a wonderful visit and I am so grateful for Blair never loosing touch! We’ve been friends since before I can remember and I hope we are always in each others lives! They are so much fun! Their stories are always the funniest things I’ve ever heard! I was rolling laughing at them! Everyone wish Blair GOOD LUCK as she is up and moving to San Diego for a new job!!! GOOD LUCK BLAIR!!!
Blair tells the funniest stories!!!
Getting all her sugar stolen!
We love you blair!!
Mom and Dad just recently took a medical convention trip to Chicago (the same weekend we surprised dad with allie). They had a fabulous time… they ate great (I’m a budding poet!), did a little shopping, and saw some rather interesting sights!
Here are mom and dad with Sue, the T-Rex at the Field Museum. This is impressive! I forget how big and totally terrifying dinosaurs were! Sue is one scary looking creature! Cute pic of the parents though!
They were in Chicago the same weekend as the Stanley Cup finals, where Chicago’s team took the title. I know nothing of hockey, but mom and dad said the fans were outrageous! On the night of the finals there were miles of fans packing Michigan Ave to celebrate. They went to a restaurant where the team came to eat the night after (i believe). They tried to bribe their waiter to sneak in and get a picture for them but were unsuccessful! :) (Definition of bribe for my folks- asking nicely!)
I believe the most memorable moment, scarred into my mom’s memory forever, was leaving the restaurant they witnessed an all nude bike ride- riders protesting some issue dealing with oil… but whatever the cause, a large group of cyclists wearing nothing but their birthday suits and an occasional boa, decided to ride the streets sending the world a very naked message! Nothing like naked people in the streets to shock a sweet family from Mississippi! (Sorry, this is a family blog, so no pictures!)
We’re glad you guys had such a memorable trip! I love yall!
Our purpose for all heading to Columbus this weekend was tri-fold. 1. Spend a family weekend together, 2. take powers’s bees to the hunting club, 3. SURPRISE DAD WITH A NEW GOLDEN RETRIEVER!!!
Meet Allie Rhea- (we’ve nicknamed her Allie B since we already have an allie!)
Allie is a 4 year old from Birmingham that needed a loving family. Perfect solution? Booper and Chucks Rhea! She is beautiful and sweet and will hopefully be a fine fit for my parents! The Barry Rhea’s and Lane’s have already fallen in love with her. Allie loved one person in particular…They cuddled in the backseat all the way to Columbus!
Meeting her new family
Dad was so surprised! He said ‘What is THAT varmit?’ Dad translation: I love you, new puppy!! :)
I forgot to include these cute one’s in my week of pics post…
J momma (mi mommy)came to bham this week to help Lauren tame the tigers… (aka one infant and 2 toddlers!) It was marvelous seeing her smiling face everyday! We’re still on team ‘Move all our relatives to Birmingham’!
cute conversation J Momma, Elizabeth and I had:
Taylor: ‘So, are you J Momma or are you going by Mi Mommy now?’
J momma: ‘i think I go by Mi Mommy, so say the kids.’
Elizabeth: ‘I go by Liiisssy. Caden goes by My Brother.’
We are so excited to wear pull ups now! Oh- so greatest potty training idea ever! Yesterday I read a good trick to teach your kids to go potty… put a few drops of blue food coloring in the potty then let your kids ‘potty train’. When they are tee tee, the water will turn green!!! (Blue + Yellow= Green) How fun is that?!?!
Showing off her new big girl pull ups!
Caden likes to put on his own shoes….
This weekend we went to Columbus to crash my parents house while they were out of town… you’ll see why in a second! Here’s tooties ‘watching tv’ face!! Ha ha!
We visited Papa, who has moved into the retirement home and is doing awesome!! It was a great visit and we were so glad to see him!!
And just because I think she is an angel…
The girls were playing (and eating!!!)
Booper and Din Din came over to spend the day with all the girls + Caden + Pow Pow. Booper brought a DELISH lunch for everyone! As soon as I get recipes, Ill share them with you! It was wonderful! We spent a few hours together playing living room baseball, watching the kids run around in circles, and then letting Caden and Liz take pictures of everyone!
This is what most of my pictures of the twins look like…. they are moving ALL the time! Good pictures are decidedly hard to take these days!
