Picture free post :(

We had a great time in Jackson this weekend! We have started visiting and staying more often, as being road warriors takes it's toll on a person! The silver lining of that cloud.... weekends with the outlaws!

It was great getting to spend some much needed and over due family time with the Lane's! Silver lining to being preggers? Mom Lane took me shopping for clothes with expandable waist lines and Gail (BFF and Neighbor) cleaned out her closet and brought me all kinds of goodies! (Can't wait to break out a good ole pair of fleece pj's that she donated to the big girl cause! They are SO SOFT and so NOT the type of clothes you wear to impress your husband and I LOVE THEM!! I'm sure Powers will be thrilled that I'll be donning them every night!)

Awesome things from this weekend:
1. Serenity. (That's a given!) She was SO SWEET and very lovely and cuddly (our favorite time!). She was a trooper and shopped til she dropped Saturday! Sunday morning we flat ironed her hair because she LOVES having straight hair.... as opposed to her awesome, all over the place curly hair that just makes her her! She is learning to pray specific prayers, and hearing her sweet little voice pray for her dogs and for the baby and for 'everybody to be safe and not get sick' is just the most beautiful sound! Oh how I wait for the Lord to do a mighty work in her....

2. Mom time. My mom-in-law is the best! She really is! She totally spoils me rotten and I love it! I was able to shop, nap, and take an ultra long bath with a stack of people magazines to flip through. Happy girl! Plus, she loves to play cards... just like me! I love sitting at their kitchen table and getting KILLED at every card game! (I'm a card gamer, but she is a PRO-FESSIONAL card game winner!)

3. Rooster's hamburgers! Powers has been dying for a 'real hamburger' so we immediately put Rooster's on the agenda when we planned our trip. Im not sure what to even say outside of 'Great Call, Hubbers!' It was scrump-diddely-umptios! Rooster's at Fondren Place. Burger. 'Nuff Said!

4. We marked 3 movies off our favorites list! We watched 2 kid friendly movies and Doubt (adult movie) and we were able to mark all 3 off our 'see again' list! That's progress, i guess!

5. Pine Lake Church Service. We always miss clearwater. That's a blanket statement. But, Chip at Pine Lake gave a great sermon on loving each other deeper and how powerful the supporting and burden bearing love of our family is. It was a great reminder to not only 'love you', but to bear this life with each other. To lift each other up constantly. I was so encouraged! Thank you, Chip!

6. Honey Bee Hives!!!
Powers got a bee hive for his birthday! (Which was definitely on the top of his 'must have soon' list! Thank you mom and dad!!) He was THRILLED! We wont be able to start the hive until next spring, but we have the wheels in motion to making our own honey! Powers is excited to be following in his dad's footsteps with harvesting honey and I will just keep my fingers crossed that our honey is as good as his! This should be a fun, hopefully sting-free project!
If anyone wants to know 3,000 fun facts about bees, call powers. He knows everything there is to know on bee's lives. Who knew there was so much to know!

7. Powers cooked dinner on Saturday night. He just 'threw something together' = delicious, stuff yourself full meal! Yay! I love when powers cooks!

As you can tell, great weekend! Now, back to the grind! Love you guys and have a great week!

Half Way There!!

Well, we are officially half way there! That is so hard to believe! We are all feeling great! Baby is the size of a bell pepper this week! Unbelievable that baby is that big! This weeks updates were focused on baby flexing it's little arms and legs and that it's sex organs are clearly developed! Too bad we still don't want to find out!! :)

We will have our last sonogram in mid October and I am already excited to see how much Shim has grown! We're excited to see if it's doing any new tricks too!

We should be able to feel baby move any day now, but haven't felt anything yet! Our favorite thing in the world is when Daddy puts his warm hands on Momma's belly! Im not sure why it feels so great, but it seems calming to both baby and momma! Our little thing definitely knows its daddy's touch and loves to cuddle with him! :)

Otherwise, we are just TOTALLY STARVING all the time! We are eating healthy, but we are eating ALOT of healthy food! :) It seems odd to be hungry all the time, but I'm determined to keep my child well fed! Lord knows Ill be the size of a blimp by the time baby's ready to be welcomed to this world!

Love you all! Praying for you! Have a great week!

Turnip bun lane!

Baby's skeleton is turning from cartilage to bone mass this week! There were not too many updates on my email EXCEPT that shim is the size of a TURNIP this week! Holy cow!

With a turnip growing it's roots inside of me, I do now officially have a baby bump! It showed up last thursday and has not gone away, so I say that's official! I have a bare belly pic of the bump but I'm not comfortable sharing that! Ill get a clothed pic up sometime soon!

Labor Day 2009

Labor Day weekend was loads of fun as usual! To keep it brief (I have a tendency to ramble!), Friday night we went to our friend David's house for his annual skeet shoot and bbq. Guess who was co-winner of the big skeet shoot?!?!?! Powers- knock-em-dead- Lane! That's right ladies! My man is a good shot! He hit 25 out of 30 skeet!! One section of the (really dorky) set up that these guys put together is where the machine throws two skeet at one time! Way to go, Pow Pow!
Ladies, you really would not believe this whole 'routine' that the guys have put together over the years. Boys are so funny!

Here are some pictures from our weekend. There are more, but I used mom's camera the whole weekend (because it takes great pictures!) and I need to ask her to email any other cute ones that she hasn't already sent! (hint hint! i know there's a cute one of you, chuckles, and caden on the couch, momma!!)

Saturday afternoon turned into a nice game of backyard baseball. Below is our fearless team. Preggers played catcher!

Sister in ready position

Brother in ready position

Caden saying he's two!

Just a normal day in the life of a diva at heart.... yes, that would be her cell phone in her right hand...

Watching pow pow and daddy clean doves. Elizabeth was not impressed and called them a 'mess'! There is one great picture of her with a look of total disgust at David's feather covered hands! Gross!

The newest redneck addition to the family! She LOVED it and rumor has it she killed a dove on Sunday afternoon! (Thanks brother!!)

Thank you mom and dad for having us! We had a great time! Labor Day is one of my very favorite holidays and we love coming home to spend that time with you! Your house is so comfy, your food is so good, and your lovin' is so sweet! I love you!

mom, if you have any pictures of charley, send them over so I can add them to this post! She was gone for half the weekend and missed the lazy afternoon pics!

charley and chicken pics follow up

Here are my cute pics of Charley and the Chickens! They now roam the whole yard freely and are really funny! I'm going to get a video of them all running so you can laugh with us! They run like velociraptors but in no particular direction... just all over the yard like they have no idea where they are going!

Here's Charley practicing skeet shooting in our neighbors back yard! Powers has a video of her blasting one, but I can't get the software on my computer to load the video :( Our little beautiful redneck! Getting ready for the big hunt! Oh how I love her!

Giant Chickens

Labor day updates to follow....

Our chickens have gotten BIG!! We still don't know if they are boys are girls... were just waiting on either eggs or rooster wake up calls in the morning! In the meantime, they are just growing like CRAZY! I can't believe that just a month or so ago these little things would barely fill your hand when you held them!

We are testing out the 'free range' lifestyle some... we let them out of the coop and let them run around for a few hours when we can. (They have plenty of room to roam in their coop, so please don't think they are mistreated!!) I was worried they would fly off, but they just really kind of walk circles around the coop and stick together as a pack! They love to eat muscadines and powers said they attacked an ant bed the other day and tore the ants up! The ants would bite them though and Powers said it was hilarious to watch them jump and try to get the ants to quit biting them! They are funny little creatures!
I have some cute ones of Charley with the chicks but need to get them off of Powers's camera...

Inundating you with baby updates!

Hey guys! Sorry this is all baby all the time, but this week has been so eventful! I promise to give you a break and get back to the 'born children' next week! We have a full weekend of family time, so I will have lots of real life pictures and stories to share!

Just a few quick updates... we are 4 months preggers today! Yay! Baby is the size of an avocado this week and will double in size in the next few weeks! Holy moly! It also has toenails and a little hair pattern! Its little tiny heart is pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day! Good job Baby Lane! I'm so proud of my little hard worker! :) Also, a good friend asked about the sex of the baby... I think we are far enough along to know the sex, but we are keeping it a surprise! Neither of us want to know and are really excited about being surprised! Powers is curious but definitely wants to wait and find out. I don't have any desire at all to know! I really don't! I'm just thrilled about 'baby' and don't care one iota if its baby boy or baby girl!!
The whole family is headed to Columbus for the annual dove hunt this weekend. Serenity is going hunting for the first time in her life and I think she's really excited! We will be filling up mom and dad's house again, but those are always the most fun times! We are really looking forward to it and I'm sure we will have lots of stories to share next week! Poor mom and dad. An extra 8 people in your house plus a party. Nothing sounds worse to me! They are so great to be such gracious hosts to all our madness!

Love you all and we hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend!

Pictures of pictures of the baby!

So I just took a few pictures OF the pictures because im all amped up and am dying to post these for all to see! (Meaning Powers and I will stalk our blog and dig into every detail of these pictures!)

Here's one of the alien shots.... Look at those cute little fists and knees though! Here's baby with it's hands above it's head!! It's so excited! This one is my favorite!

Sorry this one's blurry, but you can see a little foot and tootsies!

Rushing up the Baby Bump and Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

All kinds of updates....
Surprise! We're more pregnant than we thought!! Whoot! We are 4 months preggs! We had our second sonogram today and it was even MORE exciting than the first!! They did move our due date up a few weeks... Feb 18th is our new d-day!

Our first go round held true right on into round 2... Momma BALL cried the whole way through the sonogram! I don't know what my deal is! I CAN NOT keep it together! It was THE MOST amazing experience though! God is so good, and kind, and giving, and loving, and is knitting this amazing being together in front of our eyes! I am delighted by my Creator!

Baby was beautiful today!!! It was squirming and rolling around like crazy! There were more than a few times when it would look RIGHT in the camera like it was just saying hello! Then it would squirm and flop around! We did see it slow down and rub its little eyes for a minute! The funniest thing was that it kept throwing its little hands straight up over its head then it would throw them down... then up again!! It was SO AMAZING! I can't believe you can just WATCH the baby move and play! The sonogram lady was laughing at how active baby was! No surprise to dad and I!
We could see its little toes (!!!) and knees and fingers and brain and spinal cord and rib cage. Unreal. Totally unreal.

I have our pictures, but I need to scan them, so Ill follow up with a pics post!
