Weekend Update

Powers, Ren and I had the pleasure of keeping Barry’s kid-o’s while he and Lauren had a night to themselves. It was so fun! 5 kids in the house keeps it way too busy for pictures, but I did get some funny videos! All of the kids were so sweet- the twins were hilarious and loved getting to play with renny all night (she was such a big help in keeping them busy!) Meanwhile, Charley cleaned the whole house and got everyone in bed. She even read a bible story to the kids and prayed with them! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful family!

Sorry the video’s sideways but i don’t know how to rotate videos! The kids watching themselves in the mirror (jumping on the bed… whoops!) and singing ‘If you’re happy and you know it’. They’re screaming AMEN at the end! (Sorry about the lampshade too! They get shy if they see me taping them so I did it covertly!)

Benefit of being married to a culinary genius

Dr Suess like dinners! Tofu and Cous Cous. Usually delish, but brown and drab. Wanting to excite our 9 year old daughter, Powers added a little food coloring and made it marvelous!

T is for Tongue

Katy McCay is awesome! She read our milestones post and sent me this little jewel…

Gettin’ It! This is Colin, London’s betrothed. Such a sweet little man! Reaching his ‘tongue out’ milestone!

This is going to be so awkward for London to read when she’s 13!

Milestones!

Sunday was a big day for us..

So I read in some crazy article that your baby needs to have learned to roll over by 5 months. If not, you may have need for concern that they are developing properly. Whoever wrote that is crazy and mean, because reading that as a 1st time mom had me worried to death that my peanut wasn’t rolly polly yet! I’ve been praying and wishing for her to roll and she DID!! She wasn’t all that shocked by her roll, but she was flabbergasted that her mom was acting like a maniac! I was so excited for her!

We also have not been sleeping. And when I say not been sleeping, it’s gotten to the point where I can’t remember blocks of time during the day. We. Need. Sleep. To digress, London has been just great- she’s not fussy or angry at night, she’s just been waking up every 3 hours to eat and anytime in between if her paci falls out. Her mom is pooped. HOWEVER, my terrific friend and future co-parent, Katy, brought me a book to read on establishing healthy sleep habits. My poor baby, I had practically been torturing her by keeping her up too late at night! This book claims that the amount of sleep they get is directly related to how quickly they learn… we put her to bed super early and voila! She’s hitting all these milestones left and right! She slept so much better this weekend and even seems more well rested! Happy, smart girl! Now we need to figure out how to nap…

Our second milestone was finding out that our tongue sticks out! One of my favorite discoveries!! I claim responsibility for teaching London’s future husband how to stick his tongue out! Ill see if I can’t get that picture from his discovery! Here she is showing off her new trick. I don’t know how she did it, but that tongue was out of her mouth ALL DAY LONG yesterday. My tounge gets tired if I poke it out too long! So cute and funny though! It made for a fun family day!

Gorgeous older sister weeded flower beds with me yesterday! Woo hoo! I LOVE having her live with us! She is such a sweetheart, trooper, and FANTASTIC big sister! (Not to mention a great muffin maker!)

(If you haven’t noticed, our power is out at the office so I’ve been handed ‘writing time’ for the blog! Sorry Im a little wordy!)

3rd Bday Bash

Saturday was the twins 3rd birthday. Oh, that’s almost too hard to write. I remember so clearly when they were this old…

and then this old, just for fun..

But now they are this old..

And when you give them gifts, they say things like ‘Thank you! It’s perfect’! (Tootie Beth) i can not believe how time has flown by! We had a great 2nd annual bday swimming party this Saturday! The weather was perfect and the company was even better! We were pleased to have Ryan join the festivities this year- (Mamy’s Boyfriend). Unfortunately, Lizzy got sick on the way there but she was intensely motivated by presents and cake so she perked right on up and enjoyed her day to the fullest! Poor thing kept saying ‘I got sick up in the car.’ So sad!

Here are a few pictures from our day! Click on the collages to enlarge them…

Charley gave the kids little fans for the hot summer ballpark days- Lizzy kept pointing it at everyone and asking, ‘You feel better?’

Anniversary Weekend

This weekend was Pow Pow and my anniversary! We all packed up and went to the beach. We were expecting oil and rain and got neither!! There were a few tar balls on the beach, but nothing to take away from a beautiful vacation. The weather was sunny and coolish all weekend long! It was marvelous! I really, REALLY did not want to come back to work this morning! :(

She’s such a huge help! Strolling baby girl around the pool for fun! Check out that cloudless, gorgeous sky! Ahhh!

Most fun toys for the car ride home- we played with all of these until they were soaking wet (drool monster!) (Please, no comments on our healthy lifestyle decisions of cheetos and oreos…)

On Monday Powers, London and I ran errands and checked out a new restaurant that is opening in Bham. Here’s London deciding what she’d like to order…

I am super excited about this weekend! It is finally the twins big 3rd bday bash!!It’s going to be so fun! The twins are so excited! I can’t wait to get everything on camera! The whole fam will be in town so we will have plenty of updates!

Smile a Mile

I love this stage of life! Smiling all the time! We have two major facial expressions:  she either looks at you with a stone cold face or grins like you just struck gold! I love all of these sweet baby stages!

And… her very favorite person on the planet can make her laugh! Mom and Dad can’t even get a giggle out of her, but her big sister can! How precious is this sound?

Objects in Nose. It was only a matter of time.

Well, we’ve officially had our first object stuck in nose.

Caden stuck a pea up his nose yesterday and is now the proudest pea free little boy you’ve ever met! This morning Lauren made him tell me the ‘no no’ that he did yesterday. He started giggling and proudly told me that he stuck a ball up his nose! He stuck it so far up his nose that Barry had to use a flashlight and tweezers to find it! And it took two ‘lookin’s’ until Barry could even see it!

Pea removal successful, lifetime story to tell complete! Way to go, Caden!! :)

Is this outfit wrong? We tie-dyed goodies for London the other day and I personally love a tie-dyed onsie, but she kinda looks like a target…. TARGET FOR HER MOMMMA’S LOVIN!!!! (goob alert!)
